One platform. Four modules. Every device monetised.
The Selcomm-built platform that powers IoT Billing covers the full lifecycle — from device onboarding and data collection, to rating and invoicing, to the customer relationships that follow. Modular, configurable, and proven across utilities, telecom, smart cities and industrial IoT.
Why a single platform matters
IoT only becomes a real business when the machinery that turns raw device data into a billable customer invoice is fast, accurate and trusted. Stitching together a generic CRM, a billing tool and a device platform creates seams — and seams are exactly where revenue leaks.
The IoT Billing platform was built by a team that has been doing this since the early M2M era. Every module shares the same data model, the same provisioning rails, and the same observability — so a SIM activated in Sales lands in Device Management instantly, gets rated correctly the moment its first byte flows, and shows up cleanly in CRM the day the customer has a question.
Built for change
Devices change. Tariffs change. Networks change. The platform is designed for that reality — every module is configurable through structured data, not custom code, and the AI layer continuously adapts to the device fleet as it grows and reshapes.
Rating & Billing
Sensors generate enormous volumes of data. A fast, reliable rating and billing engine that can process and monetise that data is what separates a real IoT business from a science project.
The IoT Billing rating engine ingests usage from any device source, applies tariffs that you configure (not custom code), and produces accurate invoices on any cycle — hourly, daily, monthly, or per event. It handles multi-currency, multi-entity, and multi-tax-jurisdiction by design, because most IoT businesses cross borders before they expect to.
Highlights
- Configurable tariffs without engineering tickets
- Multi-currency, multi-entity, multi-tax-jurisdiction
- Integrated payments and dunning
- Real-time and batch rating modes
- Plays cleanly with the AI billing-stream monitor — every invoice line is watched
Device Management
Crucial to success in IoT is efficient remote management of the device estate. The platform’s Device Management module handles the entire lifecycle — onboarding, provisioning, telemetry collection, firmware tracking, exception handling, and decommissioning — for any IP-enabled device that produces monetisable data.
Every action is event-sourced, so the rating engine sees changes the instant they happen and the AI agents can react without waiting for a nightly batch.
Highlights
- Any device, any protocol, any vendor
- Lifecycle states modelled as data, not code
- Real-time telemetry feeding rating and AI
- Bulk operations across millions of devices
- Native pairing with the AI orchestration agents
Sales & Provisioning
The Sales and Provisioning module turns a sales order into a live, billing-eligible device with no human handoff in between. It is highly configurable and inter-operable with external sales sources, so an order placed in your CRM, your channel portal, or your customer self-service experience can automatically interact with devices and provision new services.
Highlights
- Order capture from any channel — direct, partner, or self-service
- Automatic device provisioning on order completion
- Configurable approval flows for high-value services
- Bulk activation for fleet roll-outs
- Hands off cleanly to Rating & Billing the moment usage starts
CRM
IoT enables everything-as-a-service, which in turn creates ongoing customer relationships. Service providers need a CRM that is fully integrated with their device management and billing — otherwise customer service ends up reading from one screen, billing from another, and devices from a third, while the customer waits.
The CRM module sits on the same data model as the rest of the platform. A support agent can see every device a customer owns, every billing line that device produced, and every AI exception the platform raised on it — without leaving the conversation.
Highlights
- Single customer record across devices, billing and provisioning
- Native exception handling for AI-flagged anomalies
- Configurable workflows for support, retention and renewals
- Self-service portal that mirrors the same data
- Scales from boutique service providers to multi-million-customer telcos
